Breaking free: The rebirth of an airline

On November 19, 2003, Independence Air was previewed to the world. The business plan was dedicated to being the low-fare airline that makes air travel easier for its customers through a customer-first attitude, innovative thinking and a willingness to challenge the status quo. It also unveiled six simple values, that would become the backbone of service for Independence Air employees:

i am about the customer first
i am genuine
i am about integrity
i am about operational excellence
i am innovative
i am enthusiastic

Independence Air launched inaugural service on June 16, 2004 with flight 001 flying from Washington-Dulles to Atlanta-Hartsfield. By the end of the day, Independence had established the largest low-fare hub in the United States.
